Regions of Bali
Bali is small on a map but slow in a car. Pick a base that matches what you actually want from the trip — you can always day-trip the rest.

How to split your time
A common two-week pattern: 4 nights Ubud, 2 nights Nusa Penida, 4 nights Canggu or Seminyak, 3 nights Uluwatu. Roads between the south coast towns and Ubud can take 60–90 minutes even for 25km, so build in slack rather than day-tripping too far.
