First-time overview

A tight loop that hits culture, nature and beach without too much driving.

Day 1–3

Ubud

Arrive, settle in. Tegallalang Rice Terraces at sunrise, Ubud Palace and market, a Balinese cooking class, and a day trip to Tirta Empul water temple.

Day 4

Ubud → Nusa Penida (day trip)

Early boat from Sanur, Kelingking Beach viewpoint, Angel's Billabong and Broken Beach, return boat by evening.

Day 5–7

Seminyak or Canggu

Beach clubs, sunset at Tanah Lot, and a half-day surf lesson if you haven't tried before. Fly out from Denpasar (DPS), 30–45 minutes away.

10 days

Culture, surf and a proper island side trip

Day 1–4

Ubud

Rice terraces, temples, a yoga class or two, and a day trip to the Sekumpul waterfalls.

Day 5–6

Nusa Penida

Stay overnight rather than day-tripping — it more than doubles what you can see without the boat schedule dictating your day.

Day 7–8

Uluwatu

Clifftop views, surf at Padang Padang or a lesson at Balangan, Kecak fire dance at sunset by Uluwatu Temple.

Day 9–10

Seminyak or Canggu

Slower pace, beach clubs, shopping, fly out from Denpasar.

2 weeks

The full island, unrushed

Day 1–4

Ubud

Culture, rice terraces, waterfalls, and a cooking class.

Day 5–6

Amed (east coast)

Slow down. Black-sand beaches, shore diving at the USAT Liberty wreck in Tulamben, sunrise views of Mount Agung.

Day 7–8

Nusa Penida

Overnight stay, manta ray snorkel trip, Kelingking and Broken Beach.

Day 9–11

Uluwatu

Surf, clifftop cafés, the Kecak dance, day trip to Padang Padang and Bingin beaches.

Day 12–14

Canggu or Seminyak

Beach clubs, spa days, Tanah Lot at sunset, fly out from Denpasar.
